The Fiery Pitta Dosha

Pitta governs metabolism and digestion in the body. It is hot and sharp in nature and is associated with intelligence and determination. Imbalance in Pitta can lead to inflammation, acidity, anger, jealousy, and digestive issues. To balance Pitta, it is important to eat cooling foods, practice relaxation techniques such as yoga nidra or meditation, and avoid overworking or overexerting yourself.

The Earthy Kapha Dosha

Kapha governs growth, lubrication, and stability in the body. It is heavy and wet in nature and is associated with love and compassion. Imbalance in Kapha can lead to weight gain, depression, congestion, allergies, and sinus problems. To balance Kapha, it is important to eat light meals, practice energizing activities such as walking or swimming, and avoid oversleeping or overeating.

As a result, the optimal health of the body decreases.

If you have trouble sleeping, try to limit your caffeine consumption or eliminate it from your diet altogether to avoid disrupting your sleep cycle.

Mindful exercise

An Ayurvedic lifestyle emphasizes regular exercise at a specific time of day. For example, the ideal kapha hours occur between 6-10 am and 6-10 pm, and Ayurveda suggests you work out during these hours. You can counteract any feelings of lethargy or clouding of consciousness that might otherwise dampen your mood at this time.
